Beach Bums

I can finally fit in my bridesmaid dress! YAY! What a relieve! I was beginning to lose sleep over that matter...literally. My good friend is coming to visit me tomorrow and I have a pantry full of groceries for the 1st time in a loooong time. I am nervous about losing all self control but I have already told her she has to hold me accountable. I guess this is a test. Hopefully I won't fail!

We were able to spend two days with my parents and go to the beach. We had a blast! Dalen LOVED everything about the beach-the water, birds, sand and finding shells. He chased birds forever and screamed his head off every time a wave approached his feet. It was really overcast the day we went but it made for some great waves and we got to watch some surfers. For the first time in over 5 months my husband and I went on a date. I just can't tell you how much difference another kid makes to your life. I literally sat at the restaurant constantly feeling next to me for the baby's car seat and then of course I would remember she was with my parents. Mario and I established (1)that if we don't have anymore kids we will have an empty nest by 42 (2)we haven't held hands in FOREVER because our hands are ALWAYS full (3) the reason my parents hardly talk when they are just sitting around is because for 20+ years they were robbed of peace and quiet by us three girls. At one moment Mario said, "isn't it nice to have peace and quiet?" And I responded, "Isn't it sad that we could be in a restaurant this loud and consider this peace and quiet??"

I am excited about the next few weeks. My friend is coming to visit and a few days later I get to fly home for another friends wedding! YAY for friends and family!

Hit or Miss

Little Lady is almost 5 months! I can't believe it, that's like almost 1/2 a year old! I still look at her like newborn baby considering she is sooo small! She is just getting into 3/6 months clothes and a lot of them (depending on the brand) fall off of her.

She is starting to play in her playchair alone and playing in the floor by herself. The more things she does and the more places we get brave enough to go I realize that having a family of your is a constant cycle of hit or miss. Somedays Dalen plays perfectly fine with her and others you would think he hated her. Some car rides are pleasant and others not so much. Some nights she sleeps 12 hours straight and others she is up once for a good bit.

I am happy we don't allow the fear of the unknown to stop us from venturing out and doing fun activities. My parents are in FL for the next week and we are going to visit them today. I am sure we will have plenty of fun and the kids will get their double dose of spoiling!
