Genitals: The Great Debate Part II
I sent her an e-mail the other day and briefly mentioned what I had been thinking about concerning the sex of the baby. The day went on and there was no response (strange), the next day went on and I got no response (stranger) and today I got an e-mail that gave me the answer. Not an answer from her or one she conjured up but an answer from God's word.
Her answer is based upon Isaiah 46:10 which basically declares that God knows the end at the beginning. So, there is my answer. At the beginning-at the time of conception when God's hand first entered my womb, he knew. He knew this baby's sex, he knows his/her due date, he knows the traits and character my baby will have. He knew then and knows now. Hmm, now onto my next question-does he ever change his mind?
Haha...I know my mind is one big wheel that just keeps spinning and sometimes out of control! I think this baby is a girl. I think she is going to be curious, inquistive and a deep thinker. I don't know for sure, but He does.
Love So Amazing.

Does God use a check-list?
Of course, then my mind comes to reality and I set my thoughts on his infinite perfection and yell inside my head, “Of course he doesn’t! He’s God!” But for some reason (I’m sure my icky hormones had something to do with it) I just began to worry…what if he forgets something!
Wow, humanity is the only excuse that can lead me to a thought that ridiculous & pathetic! But, I wish for peace of mind, He would use a checklist. Just for me! You know, just as a souvenir for when I cross over to that glorious place I can hang it in my mansion.
So just in case he’s listening and not totally offended by check-list request here are a few things that should be on it for this week (according to what I have read) and a few more from a mother’s heart.
-Place the finishing touches on hands so that he/she can make a fist (and preferably fists that won’t be used against anyone!)
-Create tooth buds under the gums
-Make bones hard for a strong body
-Begin the creation of the diaphragm
-Make heart extra strong and super sensitive to your will
-Instill talents that will be used for your glory
-Place an obvious destiny in the spirit of this baby
-Put a little less energy in this baby than what was in Baby Dalen

Since I am now a casemanager for HIV/AIDS positive individuals I thought it would be neat to share what I am learning about this aggressive disease. I have honestly felt pretty ignorant at the end of most days because I believed so many myths out there about his disease.
1. HIV/AIDS is only spread bodily fluids suchs as blood, semen, vaginal fluid, and breast milk. YES! That's it. You can not get this disease from someone's urine, feces or saliva. *Research has documented only a few times that HIV has been detected in saliva. But it is important to know just because the virus is detected doesn't mean it can be transmitted when levels are very low.
2. The way you contract the virus through these fluids is from sexual intercourse, needle sharing or from breastfeeding (VERY rare).
3. Gay men AND heterosexual men can both contract this disease.
4. It is now suggested if you participate in high risk behaviors such as; sharing needles, if you are a male who has sex with other males, a heterosexual who doesn't use condoms and/or who has sex with strangers, you should be tested for HIV/AIDS every 6 months. Because medicine is so advanced if you detect this disease early on you can still live a full and fairly normal life. Many of my clients have an undetectable HIV count (which means the virus is detected but because of the meds they have no other symptoms).
You would be amazed to know that most HIV/AIDS sufferers who are recieving proper care and maintain a healthy lifestyle can look just like you and me, work in the same place we would work, achieve education, come from great families and even sit on the same pew in church. These people are worthy of love, care and Salvation just like the rest of us. God is expanding my heart to make room for these people and as my heart expands, His arms extend offering grace, mercy and most of all restoration.

Since that Thursday, my mind has thought a lot about faith and the sovereignty of God. Here is what I have concluded:
1) We must have faith to be saved and with faith we can move mountains. With faith the sick are healed and bondages are broken. Faith is required for everything involved in the Christian walk. But I believe if we ever lose sight of God's sovereignty, we lose faith.
2) Faith speaks possibility to impossible situations but always acknowledging God as sovereign, is acknowledging that God is the chief over all. In other words, with faith things can happen but if they don't we must not lose sight that God is sovereign-that he knows all, sees all and calls all things into existence. When we lose sight of his final say our faith diminishes to nothing. We begin to second what we believe, ask why and hoard bitterness in our hearts.
3) Faith and sovereignty go hand in hand. If we can not grasp that God is lordship over all, our faith is merely a routine. We can believe things can happen but when we lose sight that it is God's hand behind our faith moving those moutains we have trusted in our ownself and what we have done.
